Dogs For Sale

Let’s see if you send this back…
A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.
He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and
set about nailing it to a post on the edge of
his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the  post,
he felt a tug on his overalls.. He looked down into the eyes
of a little boy.
"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of
your
puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat
off the back of his neck, "These pupp ies come from
fine parents and cost a good deal of money."
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep
into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held
it up to the farmer.
"I’ve got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to
take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out
a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called.
Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran  Dolly
followed by four little balls of fur.
The little boy pressed his face against the chain link
fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their
way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else
stirring inside the doghouse.
Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably
smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward
manner, the little pup began hobbling toward
the others, doing its best to catch up…
"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing
to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy’s side and
said,"Son, you don’t want that puppy. He will never
be able to run and play with you like these other dogs
would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence,
reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his
trousers.
In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both
sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made
shoe.
Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir,
I don’t run too well myself, and he will need someone
who understands."
With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked
up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little
boy."How much?" asked the little boy. "No
charge," answered the farmer, "There’s no
charge for love."
The world is full of people who need someone who
understands.

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
Author Unknown
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
With no thought of the dog filling their head.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Knew he was cold, but didn’t care about that.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Figuring the dog was free of his chain and into the trash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Santa Claus – with eyes full of tears.
He unchained the dog, once so lively and quick,
Last years Christmas present, now painfully thin and sick..
More rapid than eagles he called the dog’s name.
And the dog ran to him, despite all his pain;
“Now, DASHER! now, DANCER! now, PRANCER and VIXEN!
On, COMET! on CUPID! on, DONDER and BLITZEN!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Let’s find this dog a home where he’ll be loved by all.”
I knew in an instant there would be no gifts this year,
For Santa Claus had made one thing quite clear,
The gift of a dog is not just for the season,
We had gotten the pup for all the wrong reasons.
In our haste to think of the kids a gift
There was one important thing that we missed.
A dog should be family, and cared for the same
You don’t give a gift, then put it on a chain.
And I heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight,
“You weren’t giving a gift! You were giving a life!”

Huge Scare

one of my cats, Kitty ran outside 30 minutes ago. me my mom and brother all where running around to get her…….my mom with a blanket and in her night gown…my brother in bare feet and a winter coat. myself in sweat pants and house shoes, all of that at 1am and 28 degree weather

as funny as that sounds i was FAR from laughing, i was so scared that she would run off and get hurt.  yes my cats are inside cats now and forever, even though the momma cat Kitty “the one this post is about” was a stray and i adopted her. it was clear that she had been a stray since birth and had been tortured my the people we live near….if you can call them people….point is i will never allow any harm to come to my furry little friends, they trust and rely on me, how could i ever let them down

i am just happy my friend is safe
